Management Practices
Mount Butak is a mountain that is rarely touched by the community because it is too far from residential areas. The peak of this mountain is not covered with large trees or vegetation, but only has undergrowth and shrubs.
There are several rivers on Mount Butak, such as the Ciparasi, Cipadali, Cipicung, and Cilejet rivers. These rivers serve as a water source for the community. Mount Butak is included in the area of cover and trust. Cover is a forest area that has several springs and is located upstream of the river. In this area, there are no activities and it is protected by the community as a source of livelihood, while trust is an area inherited by the elders for the welfare of their descendants. In this trust area, there are areas that can be cultivated by the community and there are also areas reserved for future generations. Within this area, there are forests, gardens, and rice fields.
