Presidential Regulation Number 182 of 2024 on the Ministry of Environment
- To implement Article 11 of Law Number 39 of 2008 on State Ministries as amended by Law Number 61 of 2024 concerning amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 on State Ministries, it is necessary to establish a Presidential Regulation on the Ministry of Environment;
- The legal basis for this Presidential Regulation: Article 4 paragraph (1) and Article 17 of the 1945 Constitution; Law No. 39 of 2008 as amended by Law 61 of 2024; Presidential Regulation No. 140 of 2024;
- This Presidential Regulation governs the duties, functions, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Environment as the ministry responsible for government affairs in the field of environmental affairs; it regulates the organizational structure of the Ministry, namely: the Ministry's secretariat, and 4 expert staff; it regulates the duties and functions of the ministry's secretariat, and the respective duties of the expert staff. It regulates the procedures for the appointment of functional positions and implementing positions within the ministry; it regulates the workflow within the ministry based on business processes that depict effective and efficient working relationships by applying the principles of coordination, integration, synchronization, and collaboration among organizational units within the Ministry. It regulates the management of resources, namely human resources, finance, equipment, archiving, documentation, and encryption, conducted by implementing an electronic-based government system. It regulates organizational structuring through the establishment of Presidential Regulations for high-ranking leadership positions (Echelon I) and Ministerial Regulations for high-ranking primary leadership positions or Echelon II and below. The implementation of duties and functions in the environmental sector that were previously carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as stated in Presidential Regulation No. 92 of 2020 becomes the responsibility of the Ministry. Likewise, regarding human resources, assets, documents, budgets, and officials performing related duties.
