Presidential Regulation Number 183 of 2024 on the Environmental Control Agency

  • To implement Article 11 of Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning State Agencies as amended by Law Number 61 of 2024 concerning amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 on State Agencies, it is necessary to establish a Presidential Regulation on the Environmental Control Agency;
  • The legal basis for this Presidential Regulation: Article 4 paragraph (1) and Article 17 of the 1945 Constitution; Law No. 39 of 2008 as amended by Law No. 61 of 2024; Presidential Regulation No. 140 of 2024;
  • This Presidential Regulation governs the duties, functions, and organizational structure of the Environmental Control Agency as a non-body government institution that carries out governmental tasks in the field of environmental control; it regulates the organizational structure of the agency, which includes: the head and deputy head, the main secretariat, 5 deputies, and the main inspectorate; the head of the agency is held by the Minister of Environment; it regulates the duties and functions of each organizational component. It establishes procedures for the formation of centers, UPT (Technical Implementation Units), and the organizational size within the agency. It regulates the procedures for the appointment of functional positions and operational positions within the agency; it organizes the work procedures within the agency based on business processes that depict effective and efficient work relationships by applying the principles of coordination, integration, synchronization, and collaboration among organizational units within the Agency. It regulates the management of resources, namely human resources, finance, equipment, archiving, documentation, and encryption, conducted by implementing an electronic-based government system. It organizes the structuring of the organization through the establishment of Presidential Regulations for high-ranking leadership positions (Echelon I) and Ministerial Regulations for high-ranking primary leadership positions or Echelon II and below.
