Strengthening Regulations for the Protection and Advancement of Local Wisdom in Natural Resource and Environmental Conservation

Local wisdom is a community practice that has proven to maintain ecological balance and the sustainability of natural resources. Currently, Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 34/2017 as the operational regulation regarding local wisdom has several limitations that make it ineffective in strengthening local wisdom as a community-based natural resource conservation practice. A new Minister of Environment regulation is needed to strengthen the recognition, documentation, incentives, replication, management, and
innovation of community-based natural resource and environmental conservation.
