Position: National Facilitator JPH AKKM
Job type: Full time job
WGII is a working group consisting of 10 national NGOs in Indonesia, dedicated to promoting and strengthening sustainable natural resource management based on local wisdom and customs. This practice, known as ICCAs (Indigenous and Community Conserved Territories and Areas or Territories of Life), is carried out by indigenous peoples and local communities with long-term impacts on nature conservation and biodiversity.
As part of the effort to advocate for the role of local communities in conservation, WGII encourages the formation of the Network of Rights Holders of Community Managed Conservation Areas (JPH AKKM), consisting of rights-holders from areas conserved based on local values. Through this platform, JPH AKKM together with WGII responds to the challenges of conservation approaches that often disregard community rights and are not rooted in local culture.
WGII invites interested individuals to join in advocating for local rights and wisdom to achieve a sustainable environment and shared prosperity.
