Working Group ICCAs Indonesia is a working group consisting of 10 national NGOs in Indonesia, dedicated to promoting and enhancing understanding of sustainable natural resource management based on local wisdom and customs. This practice, known as ICCAs (Indigenous and Community Conserved Territories and Areas or Territories of Life), is carried out by indigenous peoples and local communities with long-term impacts on nature conservation and biodiversity. As part of the international ICCAs Consortium initiative, WGII recognizes and advocates for the vital role of local communities in preserving nature and biodiversity.
Through various activities, WGII strives to realize a conservation paradigm based on human rights, local culture, and equity in Indonesia. We invite interested individuals to join in advocating for local rights and wisdom for a sustainable environment and shared well-being.

Media and Communication Associate
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for and providing support to the Programme Manager and Coordinator in developing publications and campaigns related to WGII's work
- The main focus of the job is to develop and produce creative communication materials related to program learning and organizational advocacy agendas with an emphasis on content production (visual and written)
- Manage WGII's social media platforms and website to support publication and campaign activities, including drafting campaign plans and schedules
- Create and monitor social media performance reports, including developing steps to increase traffic and public engagement.
- Monitor and analyze content performance and provide recommendations for content optimization based on performance data.
- Facilitate communication with WGII's media network and partners.
- Coordinate with Knowledge Management in documenting outreach or communication products
- Perform administrative tasks according to their field of work, including managing resources under their responsibility.
Qualifications
- Minimum education of a bachelor's degree or preferably from a communication or journalism major.
- At least 3 years of experience related to journalism, communication, campaigns, or advocacy on issues related to human rights and the environment
- Possess a strong network modality with media networks, civil society organizations at both regional and national levels.
- Have good oral and written communication skills in Indonesian and English.
- In-depth knowledge of using social media platforms as a medium for campaigns and advocacy
- Possess good responsiveness, strong creativity, with a strong attention to detail.
- Willing to work in a dynamic work environment, uphold diversity and non-discrimination.
- Flexible in setting priorities and managing projects in a dynamic environment.
- Willing to travel to WGII's work areas.
