Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that biodiversity should not only be viewed as a food source but also as a source of economic growth that must be managed sustainably and equitably, accompanied by sustainability standards, as well as the use of innovation and technology. "Biodiversity management must be carried out holistically, covering terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems for the welfare of the people," explained Vice President K.H. Ma'ruf Amin in his speech.

The IBSAP 2025-2045 document has three main objectives: ecosystem, species, and genetic conservation; sustainable utilization; and implementation that can realize biodiversity conservation. The IBSAP 2025-2045 document also sets clear metrics to assess the achievement of each goal and target. Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa explained that IBSAP 2025-2045 aligns with the long-term and medium-term national development planning documents. "IBSAP is an important strategic document as a policy direction in biodiversity management towards the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, and has gone through a process of alignment into the National Long-Term Development Plan 2025-2045 and the draft National Medium-Term Development Plan 2025-2029," explained Minister Suharso.

The conservation of Indonesia's biodiversity shows significant progress. By 2023, protected areas on land have reached 26.7 percent and in waters 8.9 percent, with a target of 30 percent by 2045. "With the launch of the IBSAP 2025-2045 strategy and action plan, it will serve as a guide for all stakeholders to participate in realizing sustainable economic growth and the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045," concluded Vice President K.H. Ma'ruf Amin.
